JILL'S FAVORITES OF 2015

Another year has flown by, and this one was the most special for me. One of the best things about blogging is being able to look back on captured moments, and relive them through photos and words, and since this year I got married, I love looking back at what I've shared. Here are my top 10 favorite blog posts from 2015!

TEN

Vintage Scarf and White Fringe: This scarf is one of my favorite pieces in my closet and was passed down from my Grandma.

NINE

Summer Dresses and Funky Glasses: Maybe it's because I'm lusting for summer weather, but this outfit was one of my favorites from the year. I promise to never complain about shaving my legs again if it means warmer weather will be here sooner.

EIGHT

Making a Face with Make: Trying new makeup and getting to share my thoughts is one of my favorite things about blogging. Mix that in with my two favorite beings on plane earth (my dogs, duh), and you've got one of my favorite posts. This also was Olive's debut on the blog!

SEVEN

Jill's Trip to Vegas: Last Christmas my brother, husband, and I surprised my parents with a trip to Vegas. It was such a fun vacation filled with lots of gambling, eating, and of course, seeing The Beatles "Love" show (which I highly recommend). I live for our family vacations, and this one was one of my favorites.

SIX

"Will you be my bridesmaid?" DIY Kit: My favorite DIY of the year! Asking my besties to stand next to me on my wedding day was such an exciting moment, so I wanted to make sure I put some thoughtfulness (and sequins!) in the process.

FIVE

DIY Restoring Concrete Floors: This project was a huge undertaking this year, but I really loved the turnout. Sharing our DIY home projects is one of my favorite things to blog about, and I have so many more for 2016!

FOUR

103.5 KISS FM's Jingle Ball: One of the coolest things we've gotten to do through blogging was attend the 103.5 KISS FM Jingle Ball, and interview celebrities on the red carpet. This post was definitely one of those pinch me moments of the year.

THREE

Bridal Shower Look: Next to my wedding gown, this dress was my favorite to wear this year. My bridal shower was such a magical day, and it all felt like such a dream, and this dress made me feel like a really important, pretty cupcake. And who doesn't love cupcakes?

TWO

Bachelorette Party (Part I and Part II): One of the best trips of my life was my bachelorette party. My closest girlfriends and I headed to Key West, Florida for a weekend of dancing, drinking, and fun in the sun.

ONE

Wifey Tee: Since I haven't shared my wedding details yet, this is my favorite post of the year - what I wore to my rehearsal dinner. Getting married to the love of my life and having all of my family and friends attend, was the best day of my life, so of course it's the highlight of my year. And I loved this "Wifey" tee and long skirt I wore the night before.

Hope you have a safe and happy new year!

GAME ON FOR CHARITY THIS SUNDAY

I'm not gonna call myself a professional BUT I did spend quite a lot of time playing arcades and video games as a kid... and by kid, I mean I still totally do it.

So this Sunday from 11:30-2:00PM at HQ River North, I'll be competing against some kick ass Chicago influencers to raise money for my charity of choice - PAWS Chicago! Join me for brunch, drinks, and some games, all in the name of a good cause. You won't want to miss it (or miss cheering me on, right?!).

See you there!

FAVORITO FRIDAY: WHIRLYBALL CHICAGO

Especially in the winter months, I am always looking for something new and exciting to do. Last week my parents and brother came into town, and since we've done all the tourist things the city has to offer, I wanted to take them somewhere unique and fun. And since they all live in much warmer climates, being indoors was a must. That's when I remember hearing about Whirlyball, and how much fun it was.

Whirlyball is a game that mixes basketball, racing, and lacrosse into one (I know, it sounds confusing - but that's the best way to describe it). The object of the game is to race around in bumper cars with a lacrosse stick and try and swoop up the ball, and shoot it to hit your team's goal. It's competitive, a bit challenging, and a whole lot of fun. If you live in Chicago, I suggest you get a group together and head over to play. It's the perfect activity to do on the weekend when being outside seems unbearable. You won't regret it!

Happy Friday!

CHRISTMAS DECOR

Thanksgiving is now over, and it's time for my favorite holiday... Christmas! A tradition of mine and my fiancé's is to decorate our tree while watching Home Alone (alternating between 1 and 2, of course). This year will be no different, but there's always room to add a few more decorations - from the tree to the coffee table, bookcases to even nightstands.

Here are a few of new Christmas decor items I'm squealing over!

Bent Wood Sled ($149.00) - CB2

Santa Mailbox ($59.00) - Pottery Barn

Snow Frosted Tabletop Treet ($12.00) - Urban Outfitters

Snow Globes ($18.00 - On Sale!) - West Elm

Interlace Sequined Stocked ($54.00) - Anthropologie

Felt Pom Pom Tree Skirt ($55.00 - On Sale!) - West Elm

Lantern String Linghts ($38.00) - Anthropologie

LED Glitter Wreath ($55.00 - On Sale!) - West Elm

Have you started decorating for the holidays yet?

A GLIMPSE AT JILL'S THANKSGIVING

Can you believe it's Monday and that the long weekend is behind us? Since my husband and I have been non-stop running around this year for the wedding, we decided to host Thanksgiving at our house. My family flew in and we had a relaxing holiday at our condo, filled with Nintendo games and tons (and tons) of food. With how amazing this year has been, it was only appropriate that we celebrate with a little Veuve Clicquot. Although our condo isn't huge, we recently purchased a new dining room table with an extension, which worked perfectly for hosting. My favorite part of dinner was using these drink stirrers that my mom gave me, which were passed down in the family. I know it's a little early to celebrate Christmas, but with the recent snow we had, I found it fitting!

How was your Thanksgiving?

JILL'S 2015 AMAS RED CARPET RECAP

Few things I learned last night - I'm still in awe of JLO's bum, Bieber's music is so much better when you never hear him speak, and I'm going to miss One Direction more than I think I can handle.

So it's a good thing we have some fashion to discuss to take my mind off of that tragedy. Although I did switch back and forth from the Kardashians for a bit, I turned in for last night's American Music Awards, mostly to watch JLO dance and critic the looks. So let's move forward!

Best

Selena Gomez: With a brand new album came a brand new Selena, and I'm loving all of the fashion she's been serving lately. Although she suffers from serious babyface (which is a good thing!), she always dresses mature, without being too sexy. Plus anything that's red and shines is usually okay with me 98% of the time.

Kendall Jenner: We will get to Kylie in a second, but let's focus on the taller sister for now. I love Kendall's little black number, paired with black heels and top-knot. I remember on an episode of KUWTK, Kris told Kendall that "bangs were her thing"... well, she lied, but even behind the tragic bangs, Kendall looks gorgeous.

Ashley Benson: Although this outfit is a little too serious for the occasion, Ashley looks stunning. The emerald color works perfectly with her hair and skin tone, and the ensemble is tailored to perfection.

Worst

Kylie Jenner: I know Tyga took her Ferrari in the breakup, but did he take half of her dress too? While I can admit to not always hating what Kylie wears, I just can't get behind this leather mess. Also, what's going on with her shoe straps?

Justin Bieber: Forever 21 swallowed a pop-star and threw up Bieber. I'd also bet my favorite pair of shoes he only knows the words to Smells Like Teen Spirit. Nonetheless, Sorry is my jam. #sorrynotsorry

Gwen Stefani: This is what happens when you start dating a country star who makes his own turtle soup. I could see this working way better if the sleeves weren't so wide, or maybe didn't exist at all. I also think her eye makeup is a bit too harsh.

Who were your favorites?

2016 CALENDARS AND PLANNERS

It's crazy, but it's real... 2016 is upon us. In less than two months, we'll be celebrating the new year and tossing out last year's calendars and planners.

You're probably thinking, it's 2016 - why the heck are you still using a paper planner?! There is no better satisfaction that physically crossing off something on your to-do list! Calendars are also a part of your office decor, just like that cute stapler or adorable picture frame. Don't get that boring black one - opt for a pretty design or artwork that screams out your name.

Do you have your 2016 calendar or planner yet?
