MARNI x H&M

With fashion powerhouses like Lanvin and Versace under their belt, H&M is ready to take on their next big designer collaboration, and this time it's Marni. Launching March 8th in select stores, the Italian Label has put their signature styles on everything from apparel, handbags, and even socks. And rumor from their Friday night launch party has traveled from Los Angeles to Chicago, and it tells us that the quality and fabric comes close to high-end standards. And H&M isn't the only artistic love affair Marni is involved with, they shot a commercial for the collection with Academy-Award winner Sofia Coppola. Watch the pieces in motion below.

The average price for the designs is $80, with accessories starting at $20, and the most expensive piece being $129. Here are some photos from the look book.

And here are some solo pieces so you can start adding your favorites to what's already in your closet.

Head over to H&M's website here to see if the store near you will be selling the line. Chicagoans, if you plan to scope out the collection, make sure to be at the Michigan Avenue location early on March 8th!

What do you plan on picking up? Happy Shopping!

WE SURVIVED!

We survived Jason Wu for Target! We arrived at the South Loop location about 10 minutes before store opening, and the line was beginning to wrap around the curb. Like any other crazy shopping day, there was a lot of running and grabbing. Jill and I stood out of the way, watched the insanity from afar, and shopped the leftovers from the racks and fitting room. Luckily, we got everything we wanted! Between the two of us, we got the Poplin Dress in NavyPleated Canvas Skirt in Belize BluePointelle Sweater in Red, Pleated Shift Dress in Blush StripesBlouse with Tie in Navy DotsFlared Dress in Black with Nude Patent BeltSheer Blouse in Blush Dots, and the Blue Stripe Tote. Everything fit better than we thought and the quality is what you'd expect in a higher collection at Target.

For those of you that didn't get the chance to shop, here are a few words of advice from retail-experienced Jess. Target.com seems to be sold out of almost everything, but you could get lucky by checking to see if they have your size at any store near you. Just use the "find in store" option and call before-hand to check if they'll put it on hold for you. If you don't mind paying more than retail price, a lot of the collection is popping up on eBay. However, many people bypassed the fitting rooms and those that won't sell their items online will eventually return it, so keep checking that "find in store" option to see if any returns pop up! (Target has a 90 day return policy.)

This was our first Target collaboration that we were a part of. And while we try to avoid this kind of shopping craziness, it was worth it and we did it successfully!

Just 10 more minutes!

And the craziness begins!

Bringing out more racks.

What did everyone end up with? What are your favorite pieces? What did you wish you got? Let us know!

WOOED BY WU

Target.com

Target has done it again. After a successful collaboration with Missoni, the ever-growing retail store has teamed up with Jason Wu for a cheap yet chic new line. At just 29-years-old Jason Wu, famously known for designing Mrs. Obama's inauguration gown, may be a young designer, but the fashion world hasn't held that against him. His sophistication and knack for clean lines are reflected in his bold pieces, causing a hype around the February 5th launch. And don't let the extremely reasonable prices fool you, Jason Wu fully utilized his creative hands for this collaboration. Don't believe us? Take a look for yourself.

It's hard to believe everything is under $60.00. Plan your Target trip yet? You should, because the line is expected to sell quick. To check and see if the store near you is participating and to view more of the collection, visit Target Style's Facebook page. The pieces will also be sold on Target.com. Happy Shopping!

xx Jill
