Every new year, we all make the resolution to be healthier. And while I started 29 days late, I'm trying really hard to keep up with it. I'm back on my keto diet, and tea is always a great way for me to get some sweetness in my day and also to avoid snacking on unhealthy foods!

PIT STOP IN THE NEVADA DESERT

If you follow me or us on Instagram, you'll know that I spent this past Christmas in Los Angeles. While we were there, we surprised my parents with a trip to Vegas, which was the perfect way to spend the holiday. I'll be recapping both trips later, but I just had to share these photos my brother and I took in the middle of the desert on our way there. The scenery on the drive from LA to Las Vegas is gorgeous, and being an east coast girl, it was definitely a sight for soar eyes. 

I was wearing my comfy road trip attire, but I also had on my new favorite leather jacket from Cole Haan. I'm pretty proud of myself for picking a leather jacket that wasn't black - I was drawn to this pink color! First time for everything?

SHOPPING IN HOUSTON: ROUND 1

In the short time I've been living in Houston, I've noticed one awesome thing - there are boutiques everywhere.

I'm not talking about typical mall stores everywhere (even though there are a couple great outdoor shopping centers and a huge mall that has everything imaginable). I'm talking about adorable and independent boutiques with new-to-me designers, both local and not. Imagine stores you'd see in Wicker Park, Chicago and sprinkle them throughout the city. It's a pleasant surprise when I didn't know anything about Houston at all and find all these places I absolutely love.

If you're new to Houston like me or planning to visit, I found five boutiques that are a must-see. From local shops to ones happily growing, women and men's clothing to home decor - my shopping needs are fulfilled in Houston!

CHICAGO INDIE WED WEDDING SHOW & MARKET

SWEET INDULGENCES

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JESS!

Happy Birthday to the girl who is never afraid to tell me that my arm looks fat when I'm posing for a picture (true friend status!), the girl who makes me laugh until I feel like my abs have gotten a workout, and to the girl who makes up 1/2 of Jess and Jill. This will be the first birthday we don't get to celebrate together since we've fallen in love... I mean, became friends... so we have some making up to do when we see each other. I love you and can't wait for all the fun things to come this year!
