VINTAGE SCARF AND WHITE FRINGE

One of my favorite pieces of clothing I own is this vintage scarf from my Grandmother. Straight from Italy, the coloring and metallic detail dresses up any outfit, and the quality is amazing. My Grandmother had such lovely taste and was such a lady, so I cherish all of her accessories and clothing that I have.

I'm also obsessed with this white fringed kimono from Topshop that I picked up on a super sale. I've dressed it up for dinner and worn it poolside with a bathing suit - it transitions seasons so easily!

I'm also wearing Joe's Jeans, House of Harlow 1960 sunglasses, Anne Klein belt, and BCBG bracelet.

FRINGE FOR FALL

Although we usually opt for more subtle colors in our wardrobe, it's always fun to add a little texture, with one of our favorites being fringe. And what better season than fall to add this trend to your closet? From full on hippie fringe, to little fringe details, we've rounded up some of our favorite pieces that you can shop right now.

How do you fringe?

FAVORITO FRIDAY: MY BFF JILL

Is it any secret that one of my favorite persons ever is my BFF Jill? That's why I'm wishing her a very, very special HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I miss that girl and think about her every day and wish we were celebrating together. I can't wait to see her for a whole week (and be a part of her wedding!) next month. Love you, boo!

Happy Birthday, Jill!

THE TIE BAR LOVE

There's nothing I love on a man more than a nice tie. Make it a bow tie, and you're really talking my language. My fiancé and I have been on the hunt for bow ties for him and his groomsmen, and we quickly headed to The Tie Bar in Lincoln Park. They have a wide range of neckties, bow ties, pocket squares, socks, and more in all different colors, patterns, and materials. It's a great place to go to to grab a gift for any man in your life (bosses count too!) and they even have celebrity collaborations.

Have you been to The Tie Bar?

SWEATER WEATHER

It's officially the first day of fall and you know what that means - it's finally sweater weather! Oh, did I mention it's still hitting 95 degrees here in Houston? It's time to drop the AC and sacrifice my electricity bill for the sake of fashion.

There's nothing better than curling up with a cozy sweater and taking in the cool temps. In my case, sweat it out a little. Anything for the feeling of my favorite season of the year! I'm loving the cool textures and prints to spruce up your wedding this fall.

See my favorite sweaters below.

And here's a bonus one for your dog!

SEPTEMBER '15 SPOTIFY PLAYLIST

The temps are dropping almost as quickly as these beats. *mic drop

Now that we've completely embarrassed ourselves, on to the music. Our favorite season is officially here, and although we are sad to say goodbye to summer, we're enjoying the month of September. Of course, that's partly because of our newest playlist!

Check out what we're listening to, all month long, on Spotify here.

JILL'S EMMYS 2015 RED CARPET REWIND

Chains, mesh, and sweat... oh my! Those three words pretty much sum up last night's Emmys red carpet. Seriously, how did they not all faint like Olivia Culpo?!?! I watched most of the coverage not shaking my head at what walked down the carpet, which is usually a rarity (me watching television and not being judge-y is another rarity). Also, who knew Ryan Seacrest was now making suits? At this point, this guy will be running with Kanye West in 2020.

Anyway, on to my picks!

Best

Taraji P. Henson in Alexander Wang: If you're going to wear black on the red carpet, you better be prepared to step your game up, and Taraji totally did. I love her sleek hair and makeup and the interesting details on the lower part of the gown. Can shoulder chains be a new thing, too?

Kerry Washington in Marc Jacobs: This dress did not look half this fabulous walking down the runway. Kerry is owning this look and I'm all for it (along with Scandal being back on television this week!!!!!!!!).

Lady Gaga in Brandon Maxwell: I know, I know... another black dress. But come on, look at Gaga. She completely stunned in this simple yet classic number, and her body has been on point lately. I'm really loving actress Gaga, even if that means I have to wait a bit longer for another album.

Worst

Joanna Newsom in Delpozo: I think she is wearing something that Mayim Bialik grew in a petri dish.

Heidi Klum in Versace: Love the color, but unfortunately, the love stops there. It looks like this dress had a cover up and someone ripped off half of it. But then again if I had those guns, I would want to show them off as much as possible too.

Nazanin Boniadi in Stephane Rolland: It pains me to do this because I loved her on Homeland, but... really? Did she key her stylist's car to deserve this? This dress is just hanging on her. The top semi reminds me of a swan costume.

What Could Have Been

Tatiana Maslany in Bouchra Jarrar Couture: I can never pass up admiration for a woman in a well-tailored suit, but that's only when it's well-tailored. Everything is working for Tatiana, but the fit seems off. With a little nip and tuck, this could have been one of my favorites.

Elisabeth Moss in Oscar de la Renta: Elisabeth looked so gorgeous last night. I'm really diggin' the super blonde hair, red lip, and this color dress. The only thing I'd like to see is for the dress to be a little more fitted towards the bottom.

I'm now going to cry for the 10038292 time that Peggy will no longer be on my television screen.

FAVORITO FRIDAY: ELLIE GOULDING

I have loved Ellie Goulding before she hit the States (yeah, I'm going to be that girl). Imagine my excitement yesterday, when I saw she had a new single and and her album, Delirium, coming out November 6th! Listen to a snippet of "On My Mind" below, or its entirety on Spotify.

Don't you just love the song?!

We've heard it a million times - "don't judge a book by its cover" - but my gut was right when it came to Herbivore Botanicals.

No artificial anything here! (Also cruelty-free and made in the good ol' USA.) From clay masks to lip butters, facial oils to bath salts, Herbivore Botanicals has everything you need for perfect and pretty skin. My absolute fav - their sea salt sprays

JILL'S BRIDAL SHOWER

Now that you know what I wore to my bridal shower, I wanted to share a few details of the magical day!

Since I spent most of my life in Florida, my bridal shower was held down there with about 20 of my closest family and friends. I had only two requests - one, that there were Geronimo balloons, and two, that there were carnations and baby's breath. My mom and matron of honor exceeded my expectations. I knew no matter where/how it was, I was going to have the best time and it would be beautiful, but it was truly, truly perfect. Everything from the little "J & G" hearts on the table, to the customized menus, to the paper flowers that hung on the walls, all of the details were so pretty! And I loved the little purse piggy banks that served as the gifts.

Every woman was handed a few cutouts where they had to write their fondest memories of me. Since my mom has the most hilarious (and best) New York accent, she read them aloud and I had to guess who it came from. It's safe to say my mom learned a lot of what we were up to in high school (sorry again for stealing your alcohol).

I had a permanent smile on my face and my cheeks hurt from laughing so hard!

My favorite thing about the day was my adorable guest book, which was a singable stuffed animal dog. It kinda resembles Olive, no?

Anybody who has lived in the south knows that Publix is God's gift to earth, and my cupcakes were not only pretty but absolutely delicious. I only wish they could ship a cake to New York for my wedding!

Any bride will tell you how overwhelmingly loved they feel after their bridal shower, and I am no exception. I can't thank my mom and matron of honor, both below, enough for such a lovely day!

Now off to finish last minute wedding details.
